Fifteen-year-old Ryan Brett is not at all happy about being uprooted from his two best friends and ordinary life in Boise, ID when his parents move to the sleepy, strange little town of Graythorn Falls, Arizona because their work has been outsourced. Ryan finds his urban ways have little place in Graythorn; a town that if anything seems to be going backwards rather than forward. There is an eerie uncanniness to it that he cannot shake, and things do not get any better when Ryan finds himself drawn to Arantxa; a very strange girl who does not seem quite human. But there is far more at work in Graythorn Falls than meets the eye, and Ryan and Aranxta will be drawn together in ways beyond their understanding.....
