Name: Cassius Marlowe
Nationality: English
Class: Witch-Doctor
Cassius is a character who I'm still not quite sure what role to give. He was originally meant to be that reoccurring character like Lieutenant Yoki from FMA or Tsukiyama for Tokyo Ghoul, that character that makes you think "Why are you still here? How haven't you died yet?" In my opinion, no story is complete without that one character who has no business showing up as much as they do, surviving mainly through their lack of usefulness to the plot.
The trouble is, I really like Cassius' character. He's one of three brothers (the others being Decimus the Tin Man and Marcus the Lion), and has a Scarecrow motif that Nor did a good job capturing, which really fits his Witch-Doctor vibe too. A fastidious man, he hates the fact that his class makes him handle dead things, so he always caries wet-wipes and hand sanitizer with him.
The special ability of the Witch-Doctor class is that every time the user dies, they have a random chance to either die for good like a normal player, come back to life, or come back as a low-tier undead monster. Further, it has diminishing returns, so you might come back as a litch or a vampire at first, but die a couple times and you'll end up a ghost or a zombie dog or something. This was perfect for his original "just can't die" purpose, but now it makes me feel bad for him.
Nor's design for his rifle/staff combo was neat too. It fits his whole vibe of "got the Witch-Doctor class, but didn't really want it", and he'll probably spend more time using it as a gun than a staff. A fun fact is that he and his brothers are named after the assassins of Julius Caesar! I have no idea why.
