Zeran continued to shout at Rio, who was unable to form a response.
Ignoring the tongue lashing that he was receiving, Rio fired a blast towards Zeran's remaining arm.
This only caused him to scream louder as he dodged the blast.
Zeran's face was twisted as he began charging towards Rio with incredible speed.
"So much for that," Rio mutters as he begins backing away.
"You're in for a world of pain," Zeran said as he raised his palm.
The black energy from his hand formed into a large beam that shot towards Rio.
Rio dodge out of the way but was instantly grabbed by Zeran, who slammed him into the ground.
Rio could see a large crater forming on the floor where he landed.
Rio quickly summoned a shield around his body and was able to deflect an incoming ray of black energy.
Zeran began pelting the ground beneath him with blast after blast in the hopes of turning Rio into a bed of ashes.
The blasts were becoming more frequent as Rio tried his best to maintain his shield.
As the blast became more and more powerful Rio noticed cracks forming in his shield as the parasite began losing power. Rio summoned Vector once more to distract Zeran.
He began firing like before which momentarily caused Zeran to stop firing which was all the time Rio needed. He quickly flew from the crater and began making his escape pulling Vector back in the process.
The parasite was too tired to assist him now and his only chance for survival was to retreat.
Rio begins to send Panoply to the void to recover, but as he did so, something strange happened.
He himself had been pulled into a Room filled with nothing but darkness. He was unable to see anything around him aside from three others.
Zack Vector and Jeremy were running alongside him in this empty space.
Rio had unintentionally sent himself into the void. Panicking for a moment Rio backtracked to how this would have happened when he made a realization.
He had sent Panoply to the void but since he was now permanently fused with the parasite, he was dragged along as well.
Rio removes Panoply from the void and in turn he had come back into the world.
But he was no longer inside of the facility. Instead he was standing on the side of the mountain along the path that he had taken earlier.
Rio didn't know how this worked but he wasn't one to kick a gift horse in the mouth.
Hearing the sounds of destruction coming from within the mountain Rio quickly began flying away.
Rio was able to fly back to the car that he had left on the side of the road and summoning Vector, they made their swift escape.
At least, that's what he had thought until he saw a flash of red in the distance. it was growing larger and larger at an extreme pace. And before long Zeran had arrived flying overhead.
Zeran's face was twisted as he glared at the vehicle. "I knew you'd try to run."
Zeran's fist was soon about to connect with the vehicle when Rio fired a large beam towards him. The blast sent Zeran flying backwards before he could hit the vehicle and Rio ordered Vector to speed it up.
Rio had now moved to the top of the car and awaited Zeran's next strike.
Zeran was on his feet again and he had begun firing blasts towards the car.
The blasts were powerful but Rio was able to block them with his own as he began firing blasts of his own towards Zeran's chest.
The blast missed their mark as Zeran zipped through the skies.
The two of them continued firing at each other as the road was torn asunder behind them.
Zeran had begun moving closer and closer until he was only a few feet away from Rio.
The two of them begin clashes with each other as Rio uses the last of his strength to form a blade out of his mouth.
The two were about to slam into each other when Rio suddenly ducked down. And using his speed he brought the blade through Zeran's jetpack causing him to fly of course into the air.
Zeran was soon falling towards the ground as Rio's figure began to shrink.
Slamming his arm into the ground Zeran Screamed into the air as Rio's car drove off into the distance.
Rio Dropped to the ground on the roof of the car as his exhaustion caught up with him.
He felt like he had just been hit by a truck.
But despite his exhaustion, He was still full of fulfillment as he had acquired what he had come for.
The only problem now was where he would go next.
He didn't find a single clue as to where Rachel was being held, and with the Order in such bad shape. He had no clue where to even get started.
