I have been writing a book for approx 12 months and have finished the first draft.  It is a romance, initially set in the 1970's when the main characters Daniel (an off duty soldier) falls instantly for shy teenage waitress Cassie.  Lacking the confidence to approach he leaves a letter with the cafe owner.  Discovering it months later she writes back but keeps his letters a secret from family and friends.  Finally she finds the courage to tell her parents, pitting Cassie against her overprotective mother. Daniel and Cassie finally meet again and spend an idyllically romantic summer together; until a rash proposal and return of old boyfriend Josh, splits them apart. The story then moves  to the mid 90's when Cassie sees Daniel for the first time in 20 years staring in a reality TV show........

I am looking for some feedback and ideas to finish off the book.  Anything would be useful!  I will post the prologue and Chapter 1.  Each chapter comes with a chart hit theme (linked to mixed tapes Cassie makes for Daniel) and in the draft I have left in some lyrics but know I need to remove them later on.
