Ryland Park is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. Pretty much all of the above. Kori considers herself a pretty peaceful person, but Ryland really ignites something hateful in her.

Or, used to. Past tense, since Ryland was sent away the summer before ninth grade was about to start. Conveniently, he left right after a terrible accident left the town speechless.

On the bright side, she's finally free of her childhood nightmare. Now, it’s been 4 years, and senior year of high school is about to start. To top it all off, her dad is actually paying attention to her. Things are really looking up.

Until Ryland suddenly shows up out of the blue to flip everything upside down. Now, Kori's peaceful world is about to come crashing down, and she’ll have to ask herself a question she’s been avoiding for years: how much of the accident that summer had to do with Ryland?
