Ash's POV
A year after I arrived was the year I met one of my best friends - Lilac Hadden. So this is how the story went...
Today was a free day at Camp Half-Blood. All the campers were doing their own thing - a lot of the Apollo kids were in the Archery field, most of the Hermes kids were busy pulling pranks on everyone, and the Athena kids most likely geeking out over Harry Potter; all that jazz. I was just taking a walk around the camp with Fall Out Boy blasting in my ear.
I headed towards the woods so I could be alone. I don't have many friends, probably because I'm a daughter of Ares. People are too quick to judge. I'm pure awesomeness.
I kept walking until I reached a small cave I found a few months ago. I like to come here to think. But today, I have a little visitor. But, when I say little, I mean ginormous. The thing is huge and purple with five heads. Those five little suckers have huge teeth in them. I slowly backed up, but pulled my twin Celestial bronze scimitars out just in case. And as cliche as this sounds, I stepped on a twig. Everything was okay until I stepped on that dumb twig. One of the creature's heads shot up and looked around for the person who interrupted its sleep. I quickly dashed behind a tree, but it was too late. Jeez, this is sounding like a movie.
I'm gonna call the creature Bob. Anyways, Bob fond me and stood up, waking his other four heads. He started heading towards me. I turned and ran. Unfortunately for me, Bob has bad breath. He blew a cloud of greenish smoke towards me. I dodged it just in time and ran faster towards the camp. But Bob was fast - like, really, really fast. He kept gaining on me even though I had a head start. He kept blowing puffs of stinky breath and I kept dodging them.
Eventually Bob had me cornered at Zeus' Fist. Bob was staring at me expectantly, with all five pairs of eyes. If he wants a fight, that's what he's gonna get. I swung one of my blades towards his closest face, and the other blade towards it's chest. The first blade chopped off Bob's snout, which made him angrier. The other blade only sliced a shallow cut, not doing much damage.
Suddenly, a dagger appeared in Bob's side. He looked really confused, so I took this as a chance to escape. I ducked and rolled towards the direction the dagger came from, taking the dagger with me. I looked up to see a girl in dark clothes, with longish brown hair.
"Thanks," I said.
"Yup," she replied, popping the 'p'. I handed the dagger back to her, and she smiled at me, "My name's Lilac. I'm a daughter of Nyx. You?"
"I'm Ash, daughter of Ares." I gave her a slight nod. In our mini conversation, we didn't notice that Bob had somewhat recovered and is heading towards us.
I jumped in front of Lilac right before he reached us, and chopped off two of his heads while Lilac yelled, "NO!" , trying to stop me.
I have a teensy weensy problem - two heads are slowly growing at the stump each stump I created when I beheaded two of Bob's heads, luckily distracting the monster.

"That wasn't a very good idea. It's a hydra - I don't know how it got past the camp's borders. It regrows two heads for every one you chop off. It also has a poisonous breath."
"Yeah, whatever. Now if you could tell me how to kill it, that'd be nice."

"You're lucky I refilled my greek fire," I said, referring to the small vials of the green gas-like stuff that hung by my belt. "You distract it, I'll behead it, and then you pour the fire on him while he's distracted by me."
Lilac nods at me as I hand her the containers.
By now, the hydra has already regrown his heads, with an extra one for each one I chop off. Lilac let out an ear-piercing whistle and it turned all seven heads to look at her. Then he charged. Lilac dodged out of the way and jumped on his back. Dang, that girl is stealthy. He tried turning his long necks to look at her. I took this as a chance to get rid of some heads. I swung my scimitars at his abnormally long necks, successfully taking off three heads. Lilac quickly poured a bit of the fire on each of the the three stumps. Unfortunately, the hydra wasn't as stunned this time I injured him as last time. It whipped it's heads at me and shot a puff of green smoke at me. I rolled out of the way and caught a glimpse of Lilac beheading one of the heads. She set fire to the head and I watched it disintegrate as the liquid touched it. Four down, three to go. I ran straight at the hydra and decapitated two more heads. Lilac scrambled higher up the monster's back and tipped the vial over each of the heads, making sure they don't regrow. The creature looked confused. It overcame it's confusion and it's eyes narrowed at me. It charged and just as I was about to attack when a flaming arrow came flying towards the hydra. It moved out of the way in time. The arrow flew past me and hit a tree. Too bad for me though, because it singe off some of my precious pink hair and burned my er a bit. Luckily, the tree it set fire to wasn't a nymph. Phew.

"The greek fire is gone. I used it all up. What are we gonna do?" Lilac rushes out.

I glared at her. "We were perfectly fine, thank you very much," I scoffed.

Suddenly we heard a loud growl and saw the hydra bounding towards us. Lilac and I got out of the away in time, but the monster knocked Hannah down. I darted over to the hydra and sliced his neck off.
"Lilac, go get some fire, and hurry!" She an over to the burning tree, grabbed a branch, and set it on fire. She brought it back to me just in time, and I touched the fire onto the monster's neck stump. ' Please please work! ' I pleaded to the gods...581Please respect copyright.ＰＥＮＡＮＡHWMMk3SXuC
