Let’s start with a bit of backstory…

My name is Ruka, I’m around 5’3 brown orange eyes, light brown curly short hair, brown skin, female. When I was 11 years old I started my first year of secondary school, the school I met my current boyfriend Eric, a beautiful, tall, blonde (used to be brown) haired, blue eyed, sun kissed skin male. He had already been at the school for a year.
I didn’t really like him at first, mainly because of me but as time went on and the more he kept pursuing me the more closer we became even tho it was a bit strange. I mean, why would one of the most popular guys in school want to be my friend? Me?!.
Even tho I had that thought in my head he would still come talk to me, hang out with me and just all in all want to be around me.
A few years later he brought me outside of the school by a beautiful blossom tree and asked me to be his girlfriend, when I tell you I was shocked, well that would be an understatement. I needed time to think about it as this was all new to me plus a few other thoughts were going through my mind, but. in the end.. I agreed to become his girlfriend.
Honestly everything was great, we never argued, we trusted each other, we pretty much did everything together. It was like a fantasy, everyone called us the perfect couple, he treated me like a princess, I really thought this was it, being with him made me feel like nothing else mattered, that I had no worries.. why you may ask? Because I had Eric because we loved each other because we had a long.. strong.. relationship…

After that phone call we barely interacted…

I felt like something was wrong like he was hiding something but I wanted to trust him so I went to the next best person.
Becky.
Becky is my best friend and.. well.. my only friend, she’s a feisty red hair, with green eyes, shorter than me, tanned freckled skin. Tho she does cover her freckles up with makeup, I never understood why because they are beautiful but i progress, I was actually introduced to her around the same time I met Eric.
Becky eh. Well she’s the type of person who doesn’t like to be kept waiting so here’s how it all played out
Becky: so what do you want? Make it quick my boyfriend is coming over, I gotta get ready and I’d rather you not be here when he comes
I began to explain to her what had been happening with Eric
I told her how he’s been like a switch. How one day he is all over me and loving, texting and calling me all day everyday, wanting to be around me all the time, then the next, being distant, not calling or texting making excuses not to hang out even tho he’s like this he still tells me he wants to be with me and loves me, that I need to trust him or our relationship won’t work
When I stopped talking Becky looked at me kinda annoyed
Becky: Bro you’re tripping remember Eric can have anyone he wants, I mean look at him, he’s gorgeous, and yet he’s with you. Just trust him he’s probably just busy, remember his 18th birthday is coming up so he’s probably just planning for that once his birthday goes he’ll probably be all over you again just wait
I wanted to believe Becky was right.. but days turned into weeks then weeks into months with Eric still acting this way, he’s still telling me he loves me and wants to be with me but he’s not showing it
I don’t want to just let go.. I want to know why? I want to know what to change if changing would even help, I want to know what happened, did I do something that could’ve caused him to become like this? Maybe he felt like I wasn’t loving enough..
