Kurt's dealing with the troubles of seventh grade middle school while going through the troubles of an identity crisis and many, many, MANY unneeded dramas, school romances, and rumors. 

He is trying to make friends with the students in his school although autism, social anxiety, and awkwardness is no good mix for making friends. 

Moving from a school in the middle of the year and having to make new friends, get to know the teachers, learn what all the other kids already know, and still have to get used to his house doesn't make it any easier.
