The buses slowly rolled to a stop outside of the White House gates. Cameo silently stepped out of the lead bus, Infinity just behind him. Harley and Ethaniel ran over to them from the second bus.
โYou ready for this?โ Cameo whispered.
โIs anyone ever ready for war?โ Ethaniel smiled sadly.
Cameo shook his head. โLetโs go then.โ He made a sign to his army and began scaling the fence, soldiers quickly following. โะะต ะผะพะณั ะฟะพะฒะตัะธัั, ััะพ ั ัะพะฑะธัะฐััั ััะพ ัะดะตะปะฐัั.โ
The small battalion easily made it over the wall and were soon running across the White House lawn in such tight formation as to make most professional militaries envious. When Cameo reached the double doors, he pushed against them, expecting them to be locked, but, to his surprise, they swung open soundlessly. He peered into the entryway.ย
Empty.
โHarley,โ Cameo hissed, โwhereโs that doohickey you made?โ She came up next to him and held up what appeared to be a virtual reality headset. โWhat in the world does it do again?โ
Harley sighed and slid it on. โThis is a powerful thermal camera. It shows movement and heat with infrared heat signatures. It is so powerful that it can detect heat and movement through a mile of steel, concrete, or solid rock.
โIn short, itโs a heat vision camera.โ
โCool. Use it.โ
โAlready done. At least a dozen signatures way, way down. Iโm guessing hidden chambers underneath the basement. Luckily,โ she whispered, pressing a few buttons on the headgear, โthis also has an x-ray vision filter.โ
โLead the way, Gizmo,โ Cameo chuckled, amazed at her technological prowess. She walked confidently to the center of the room, and craned her neck to look at the massive chandelier dangling from the ceiling. Holding her arm above her head, she shot a cable to the ceiling and hurtled up to inspect it. Pushing as hard as she could, she raised up a four-by-four section of the seemingly plastered ceiling.
โNice going, Harley!โ Ethaniel quietly called up to her. She beamed down at him, then disappeared into the opening.
Cameo shrugged, then motioned for everyone to follow her. Soon, the room below was empty, open doors swinging in a slight breeze.
The secret passage was tall enough to stand up in and went on for about a hundred yards. At the end of this passage, there was a ladder. And a straight down drop. Cameo turned to Infinity and grinned.
โLooks like itโs either straight up-โ
โOr straight down,โ she finished. โI know which one Iโll choose.โ She grabbed Cameoโs hand and jumped. Firing her grappler a few seconds into freefall, she gently lowered herself to the ground. Cameo waited a little longer and fired the grappler almost at the last second.
Infinity glared at him.
โWhat? I like the rush!โ
โHowโd you like being a bloody smear on the ground?โ
โะขั ะทะฐั ะพัะตัั, ััะพะฑั ั ะฑัะป ะฟะพัะปะต ัะพะณะพ, ะบะฐะบ ั-โ He was interrupted by a hailstorm of black-clad soldiers, his own, he knew, but the sight of them still frightened him. Shaking his head to clear it, he walked to the far end of the small room, which seemed to be some sort of door. A small keypad was situated in the center of the wall. Biting his lower lip, he entered in a string of numbers that had been hammered into his brain.

The wall split down the middle and opened wide, revealing a cavernous room. Cameo stood in the opening, Infinity by his side, army at attention behind their General. At the far end of this massive space, surrounded by guards and a young boy, stood none other than the one who had caused so much pain and grief.
Beau Jaiden.โโโโโโโ
