Cameo was waiting outside for the girls when the doctor came out and told him the bad news.
“The young man you brought in is… dying. I’m not sure he’s going to make it. Is there anyone you know who he might like to speak to?”
“His…um…girlfriend is on her way. She should be here-” the roar of a four-stroke engine caught his attention, “right now.” Harley flew off of the snowmobile and flung her helmet away.
“Ethaniel?” she asked, hope glinting in her tear-reddened eyes. Cameo gestured inside and shook his head.
“Doc’s not sure if he’ll make it. Go up and talk to him. Third floor, fourth room. Here,” he continued, “take my pass.” Harley practically ripped it out of his hand and crashed through the front door. “Wait! The doctor said you and Ethaniel can stay until we come back for you. He promised it would all be confidential. We’ll end this while you stay safe. And alive. Now, go!” She ran back and gave her cousin a hug, then dashed back inside.
“And now that Harley’s safe, I can tell you what Ethaniel told me. He knows where a supporter is. A supporter of the Fall. We need to get to Ontario.”
Infinity plugged in the coordinates of the building. “If we can get a car, we can be there in… roughly four hours. Twelve by snowmobile.”
“Then let’s get a car.” Cameo grinned sadistically.

“Are you sure this is a good idea?” Infinity asked uncertainly. Cameo didn’t answer; he was hard at work hotwiring the motorcycle. The engine rumbled to life and Cameo jumped on. Infinity followed suit and jammed Cameo’s helmet on his head.
“Don’t forget that,” she yelled as the powerful engine thundered, signaling that it was time to go. Cameo gave her a thumbs up and floored the accelerator, speeding away from the driveway and the bike’s oblivious rightful owner.
“Hook a left at the end of this road. Take this exit!”
“Which exit?!” Cameo catechized frantically.
“91! HERE! Turn, turn!”
“Argh! Why did you let me drive?” Cameo threw the bike’s handlebars to the right, sending the stolen cycle careening onto a highway clogged with traffic.
He wove between stopped vehicles, veering into the breakdown lane to avoid collisions. He gunned the accelerator, hoping to shave off some time and get to their location sooner. He lurched back into traffic, barely dodging a parked Tesla. The driver honked and rolled down his window to yell at them, but they had already flown ahead.
The pair drifted through the blockage for a few more hours, until Infinity pointed down an offramp that led to the city. Cameo finally slowed the bike down to just above the speed limit, and Infinity directed him to a high-rise building in the center of town. Cameo swung the bike into a parking space and the two vaulted off. Infinity shot off a text to Harley.
“I just asked Harley to hack the schematics for the building. Waiting for her to respond.” Cameo nodded and gestured for her to follow him into the dark alley beside the building. He opened the backpack that never left his side. He tossed her a black catsuit and he pulled out a similar one for himself.
“Put it on.”
Infinity looked down at her bulky pants and flannel shirt. “Um…”
“I’ll turn around, and the backpack emits a thermoptic camouflage field, so no one outside can see.” He turned around, as promised, and pulled off his shirt. Infinity, still skeptical, watched him for a minute to make sure he wasn’t going to turn around. As his shirt worked it’s way over his head, she noticed the way the muscles on his back rippled, tense and steady. She realized she was staring when he tucked the shirt into his backpack and began undoing his belt. Infinity blushed and turned around to the wall.
A few minutes later, Cameo asked if she was nearly done.
“Yeah, just a little confused. Why do we need these?” She asked, turning around.
“Well, has Harley sent you the schematics yet?”
“Yeah, why?” She tossed him her phone.
He pulled up the plans and pointed to a network of shafts. “That's why. We’re going through the ventilation system.”
