Poems of the Heart - Ever Meet That Person?

Ever meet that one person,

Someone whose attention must be won?

Ever see some one that makes you wonder,

If you're yourself, or just a pile of blunder?

When I met that person, of myself I was so unsure,

But I felt like a fish on a lure.

There was someone who I couldn't understand,

There was the person who was the rock in the sand.

There is someone who is different, although,

They are someone I'd never get to know.

It makes me feel weak,

Because in their presence you feel like a freak.

It's not their fault, never was, nor will be,

Because they're not you, won't know what you see.

I'm helpless, I won't lie,

But I can't sit down to wail and cry.

Because reality is there, like a slap to the face,

It's presence harder than a mace.

Remember, it says, that this is just a phase,

Remember that you must work you way out of this maze.

Nonetheless, it's foolish I feel,

And like a bug crushed beneath a heel.

I wish these words I could say without paper or screen,

But, I guess, it's what makes me an immature teen.

Maybe I'll feel better after this, or tomorrow,

If not, I'll push ahead, not going with this drama's flow.

Do as you do, or as I do now,

But know this, crushes you'll get past, they are not a vow.
