Flirting with death 

In the pitch-black void

Hi child of the universe 

Hi my fellow 

Child of the sky and earth

If you fear me

It’s about pain 

It’s about injustice 

It’s about toys 

It’s about cruel men

Hiding their cruelty

Behind grand words 

It’s about me 

Being cruel 

Cruel as fuck 

It’s about pain

All brushed aside

Why is this happening 

Not as a metaphor 

But in real life?

But you won’t acknowledge it
