可能自小受報章專欄，尤其是《蘋果》作家如李碧華、鍾偉民等專欄的薰陶，感覺散文多是借一事件來抒發己見，或帶出某個訊息，或強調／反駁某種論調，或黑色幽默，或影射譏諷。

那些沒有核心思想、無法傳遞任何訊息的文章，還有那些只停留在訴說發生在自己身上的故事，不附帶任何精闢獨到的見解，即使再現實貼地，在我看來也只屬日記故事一類，不算散文。

不過若站在文學角度，魯迅、朱自清那些即使描寫日常瑣事也能昇華至文學層面，這又是另一個分野，自問還沒到那個高度，恕不作評。

未知大家眼中的散文和故事又有甚麼分別？
