"So do you like him?" asked Samantha in a voice more high-pitched than usual.
"No," I answered trying hard to hide the blush that immediately rose up my cheeks.
I was sure I didn't sound convincing at all but luckily, Samantha didn't seem to notice.
She had seen Shane confessing to me. When I said I didn't like him, it was not completely a lie. Before this Shane and I didn't have much interaction with each other. I wondered how he came to like me. I had only talked to him twice and that included this morning confession.
He was athletic, good looking and popular. It just took him one confession to make me think about him all morning.It was kinda annoying how I could fall in love so easily so I told him I needed sometime to think about it.
"Today we will get our exam results," said Samantha now sounding very cheerful.
"I know and you sound so happy about it," I said.
"Do I?You know me, I am 99 per cent sure that I am in first place again," said Samantha shamelessly with a wide grin.
"Where did the the other one go," I asked.
"Because you are the one I need, get it?I guess it doesn't make any sense," she said laughing.

I guessed I could say Shane and I were in the ambiguous stage. I still have not returned his feeling but we have been texting to each other ever since. I had been rereading his previous texts for the third time, wishing and waiting for a new message.
'Ting'. A notification came up. A feeling of disappoinment rushed in when I saw the sender was just Samantha.
Sam: I am studying chemistry right now.
Me: so what?
Sam:Fun fact, my favorite element in the periodic table is Uranium. Because I am in love with U.
Me:It's a good one .HAHAHAHA
