May is a confident and charming person who attracts many of the male species, but only Ember knows how hard it can be for May to be who she is and is the only one who truly understands her pain. May admires her best friend and would do anything for her.

Sparrow Harvey: A boy who is soft and caring but will fight like warrior about something he cares about deeply. Because of this warrior side of him he can be annoying to others and that in turn causes him trouble that nobody seems to understand. He grew up getting everything he wanted as his father is in the mafia, a good person but at the same time sucked into the chaos of the mafia. He has a good bond with his father but his mother has always been out of his life as his parents got divorced when he was only ten. The reason behind the divorce would be his cheating mother with another mafia member that Sparrow's father truly hates.

Harlow Arlen: This boy is what girls would call a bad boy. He always fights with others and has never been in good terms with his parents. He has anger issues many years of experience with the emotion of anger, that is to an outside person. Truly he feels hatred towards himself for not being able to be perfect for his parents who were rich class citizens. He was often defined as a snobby rich kid and someone who shouldn't be messed with due to his anger issues.

Iris Fay: A bubbly women and Ember's aunt and only other family member after her parents died, the only one who cared anyways. Her sister struggled to have Ember and Iris went through her pain with her sister. Iris herself struggles to hold a job as she isn't well off in many bad situation or doesn't know how to deal with them and so she runs from those bad situations. Despite her lack of handling bad situations she always looks at the bright side of things, and only Ember knows how truly frustrated her poor aunt gets. Iris and Ember have a good relationship and despite her troubles Iris raised her sister’s child like her own.

Ambrose Otis: A man who is as scary as they come, a member of the mafia and not defined to be good person. He kills like a man who has lost his sanity and his enemies fear him with no doubt. He deals drugs and illegal weapons and armory. The definition of a bad man. Despite this he is never caught by the police, it really is a mystery how he does it. His past isn't so great either though, he lost his wife in a mysterious accident and went slowly insane growing bitter until he was only bitter, killing his best friend in the process.

Alkora Otis: This women is Ambrose's wife. She is was defined as a true beauty and was also best friends with Ember's mother from a young age. Alkora was well known in the mafia but her death was a sudden and mysterious death that turned into a cold case.

Dwen Hera and Seraphina Hera: These were the parents of Ember, who died in a murder incident that was left a cold case. They are the reason why Ember decided to fight and use her powers to the best of her ability.
This book contain emotional content that can be triggering so that is a slight warning to those who may be younger or more sensitive, I will mention the chapters to beware of before the particular chapter starts. Other than that there is a bit of swearing (depending on the character) and romantic scenes, so i will put warnings for those as well.
