They always ask me, 

With each conversation that passes. 

"Yeah, I needed the escape." 

I reply mundanely. 

"Will we ever see you again?" 

They tire me quickly, 

And I get annoyed or bored. 

"Maybe, maybe not. Maybe in some town halfway across the globe." 

I can tell they're not satisfied. 

No one ever is.
