2021年10月8日，熱帶氣旋獅子山襲港，帶來暴雨，並造成多處水浸，期間更有一名女工人因棚架倒塌而死。惟天文台卻只維持3號風球及黃雨，直至11時才改掛紅雨及黑雨。是次安排因為颱風及暴雨訊號安排不恰當而引起網民熱議，當中大部分均對其感到不滿，認為天文台應早於6-7時已經要改掛較高訊號，並宣布停工停課。
