Chaos in dorm AB once again. Thuds, screeches, and the throwing of objects could be heard. Who was it? None other than Amir and Blake. Over cleaning, of course.
You see, this all started because of a monthly inspection of the dorms. Apparently a student had been caught sneaking drugs into the dorm years back which is why these inspections became a monthly routine. Students had to keep their dorms spick and span which is why the problem here occurred.
Amir and Blake were the messiest first years in college. Amir would often leave his electronics laying around while Blake would leave his papers everywhere. Amir was just trying to get by with enough time to enjoy his video games while Blake was incredibly focused on his studies. Despite this odd combination they had met recently and “hit it off”, according to the upperclassmen.
Blake had just received a text from his friend that an inspection was going to occur within the next hour. In full panic Blake started organizing all of his papers which seemed endlessly scattered. He had briefly let Amir know but when he turned back to make sure Amir was cleaning he was still gaming with his headphones on.
Blake rolled his eyes and lightly punched Amir's shoulder. Amir threw his hands in the air as he glared at Blake, “Hey! You just killed me!” Blake took a second to stare at him blankly, he couldn’t comprehend why Amir was such a fool. He then smacked Amir’s head, “Get up, we need to start cleaning. Inspection is about to happen.”
Amir’s mouth dropped open in rage as he placed his games down and tackled Blake like he had been playing football his whole life, “That was a once in a lifetime event man!” Blake pushed him off with a sigh, “Trash.”
Shortly after, Blake picked up his video games and placed them on top of a tall cabinet so Amir couldn’t reach. Amir instantly jumped up in surprise, “Wha!? Oh no. I know you aren’t messing with my games!” He then snatched Blake’s papers and ran straight for the door. Blake’s maroon eyes instantly lit up like fire as he made sure to swiftly grab Amir by his hoodie, “Think again. Not amused Amir.”
Amir knew it was no use and grumply started organizing the room as he mumbled, “Stupid Blake...stupid papers...stupid dorm…” Blake could only shrug and roll his eyes as he continued to clean, it took around 30 minutes before the room was spotless.
Amir crossed his arms as he frowned while glaring at Blake, "You think you’re clever, don’t you? Now can I have my games back?"
Blake couldn't help but laugh aloud at the stubborn kid in front of him. Of course Amir was upset. But for some reason Blake felt that the sight was much too endearing for him to let go of. He turned around acting like he was going to the cabinet, however, he was actually taking his phone out and putting the camera on.
He smirked as he abruptly turned around and snapped a picture of Amir with flash on, he couldn’t help but think of all the memes this picture could fit. Once Amir took in what had happened he froze, he couldn’t believe that Blake had just done that. Blake always acted so mature but he actually had the audacity to trick him twice! Twice in a row!
Amir raised his eyebrows and roared, “Blackmail!!!” Like a tiger let loose Amir had finally had it with all of Blake’s games. On Monday Blake embarrassed him in English class by pointing out his consistently terrible grammar. On Tuesday he outshone him in his favorite sport, Ice Hockey. On Wednesday he stole his leftovers that were in the fridge. On Thursday he stayed up all night studying while keeping the lights on. On Friday he took advantage of the TV to watch his lame show. And now on his free Saturday Blake stole his games to make him clean and took a picture of him for blackmail material. This had gone too far. Enough was enough.
Amir was in battle mode. He tackled Blake much more aggressively than he did earlier. The two fell to the ground and with that Amir’s lips brazed Blake’s cheek. Blake’s eyes widened as a grin spread across his usually cold face, “Aren’t you moving a bit fast? How about asking me out first?” Amir was completely shocked and felt his heart stop at the sight his bad luck. This had to be the doing of the Gods. He had no choice but to think quickly.
Amir rolled his eyes and looked away, “Yeah yeah, take me on a date to the arcade then.” He had to decide to play it off as a joke to avoid further humiliation. As he was about to get up Blake pulled him back down before briefly kissing him, “Deal.”
Amir had no clue that Blake was serious, he quickly punched his arm and got up, “Ok! Sounds great! It’s a plan! Haha!” Amir was an awkward mess, he didn’t particularly hate what had just happened. One can even say that he liked it. Hell. One could even say he was waiting for it. After all, the teasing had been going on long enough.
Blake couldn’t help but hopelessly laugh as he got up and grabbed Amir’s video games. He handed them to him and blew a breath of cold air on Amir’s face, “Cool off, why don’t you?” Amir shook his face and tried to calm down as he glared at Blake.
Seconds later the inspectors burst in and checked the place, it was perfectly organized. Except for the awkward mess that Amir was. Nevertheless, their room had been approved. Blake spent the rest of the day “studying”, aka planning their date for tomorrow. Meanwhile Amir spent the rest of the day gaming, aka planning out all the future scenarios of the date to come.
