sometimes I can hear her

my inner self

when I'm in pain

when I feel a lot of things

her voice so raw

full of terror

please please please please

she begs me between tears,

gulping down sobs

'don't leave me here

don't make me feel these things

alone.

by myself.'

trapped in the dark room

sat in the corner

she begs me to let in the light

and I?

I see the light bathing her face

I see the suffering in her eyes

I see the tears on her cheeks

And I shut the door.
