Valentine

It seems so silly now,

My assumptions,

How could I think so harshly,

Of the one I love?

If my mistrust was outdated,

Maybe it came from within,

Fighting its way out from the weight,

I hold upon my shoulders.

I should not have doubted,

Not his memory,

Not his heart,

For he still remembered me,

In times when it was dark.

Tell me again,

The reason my spirits were lifted,

When we may never talk again,

Why should I worry myself with these silly matters!

The matter of the word,

Is that I should feel so loved,

On the day designed for lovers,

Should we not spend it with one another?
