Camp Crystal Lake, 1957.
When Jason Voorhees drowns in the middle of the cold lake, and the deaths of two counsellors the following year in 1958, Camp Crystal Lake is closed down after several fires, and sabotage. When Steve Christy, the son of the original owners, re-opens it in 1979, he hires Alice Hardy, a California artist and Assistant Camp Counsellor, and other teenagers, unaware that a killer is on the loose, seeking revenge.
