故事簡綱

英愛條約造成愛爾蘭南北分治，北愛爾蘭屬於英國的殖民地，人們受困於住房、就業、選舉等等不公平的待遇，越來越多人不知道自己的未來究竟在哪裡。

史蒂芬的父親與母親相繼失蹤。他與好友萊恩、鮑比，三人選擇投入愛爾蘭共和軍（IRA）以暴力來還擊各方不平等的壓迫。

一切的災難正式拉開序幕。

在1969年8月13日這天，史蒂芬的弟弟，死於一場意外。

弟弟死後，史蒂芬失去了所有親人和信仰，正式成爲激進的恐怖份子。

史蒂芬對於英軍、警察，不論是天主教或新教徒的仇恨越來越深。

他認識了生命中的導師，同時也是未來的仇人——昆˙伯克。

IRA的首領之一，肖恩˙林奇，交代史蒂芬於和平遊行當天策劃一場爆炸。

他們要對英軍與警察施展報復，暗殺特種部隊、炸毀警察局。

這行人捲入仇恨的漩渦之中，距離自由與和平越漸遙遠。
