安潔拉雪歐在療養院中度過漫長人生，她的心理醫師建議她用書寫的方式去自我療癒，讓自己得以正視造成她夢魘的那起事件——關於在那棟門之宅邸發生的事。

父母相繼離世後，她獨自住在都會區的小房子中，某日卻收到一位自稱約翰荷爾瑞律師的來信，信中提及她的祖父在近郊留下一棟未處理的房子，希望做為唯一繼承者的安潔拉雪歐能決定如何處置。

從來不曉得祖父還有留下這樣房子，安潔拉感到和離世的親人還有一絲聯繫，便答應和約翰荷爾瑞一同造訪這棟神秘宅邸......
