　　「請問您是為了什麼寫作呢？」

　　爐火邊，星火與乾柴所發出的劈啪聲幾乎掩蓋過南井小姐所問的話。她手中拿著筆記本跟一隻墨水快要見底的筆，試探的看著對面已經年過七十，頭髮像是被銀雪覆蓋的男作家。

　　「這是一個不錯的問題。」和田紀徐徐的回道，細長的眼睛低垂看向手中的溫咖啡，牽起嘴角兩側時勾起了許多皺紋。

　　「大概就像是一種寄託吧，我需要仰賴寫作才活得下去──哦，不是得靠著稿費才賴以維生的意思。我的意思是，只有寫作的時候，才會有活著的感覺。」

　　和田紀不禁伸手去觸碰膝邊空蕩蕩的地方，動作溫柔，就像是在順什麼動物的毛髮一樣。

　　「不管是我，還是我一直寫著的牠。」



         這是一個關於下筆時能看見絕種的日本狼，追逐著與牠再見一面，揉雜懊悔、愛與奉獻的短篇故事。
