故事分三部曲，背景以奈良、平安及鐮倉時代為原型，除安倍晴明、源賴光等正派人士外，內文亦有大量鮮為人知的妖怪為原型的角色，非王道乃為邪道。

不同於其他鬼怪故事，更著墨寫邪魔內心糾結。

邪非邪，正非正，過度的正義反為惡。
