I confess in the year of ‘99

Before the century went by

I was never sure what felt missing from my world

There were happy times growing up

I witnessed those close to me fall in love

So I internally screamed ‘love, love, where is that love for me?’

When you came along, I finally felt complete

My body experienced emotions that I didn’t dare think

Would ever happen to me

But it did

And did so perfectly

As the decades rolled on, I wondered

How long we would hang on more

Are you sure that you’re not bored of me yet?

Hang on, you would have said something if you openly spoke of regrets

But you didn’t, no you didn’t

And my heart is glad of that

Since by the year of ‘21

I knew you would always be the one for me

So when I spoke those sweet words from my lips

Eyes glistening with tears

Would you be by my side forever?

Hearing yes sealed all my feelings

All those feelings

For you

In my lifetime, I’ve walked across this earth

Past strangers and life’s twists and turns

And finally found my solace
