【約十九13】「彼拉多聽見這話，就帶耶穌出來，到了一個地方，名叫鋪華石處，希伯來話叫厄巴大，就在那裏坐堂。」

﹝原文字義﹞「厄巴大」舉起，丘地，高地。

﹝文意註解﹞「到了一個地方，名叫鋪華石處」：指在聖殿西北角一處鋪有石頭的地方。據說羅馬巡撫出外開庭審判時：(1)常將審判座設在露天的地方；(2)座下喜歡鋪放一些棋盤式的方格華石。
