Why did my head come to this conclusion? I think it's due to him liking to stay drunk, a way to numb pain. We can easily tell the team likely broke up after Summer passed away on that mission. Qrow keeps as much distance as he can from others due to his bad luck semblance, and knows about silver eyes which is something that isn't apparently wide spread knowledge in the current time that we're seeing. I wouldn't be surprised if Qrow ever felt like if he could go back and change something his bad luck caused to happen to be reversed or changed so whoever it hurt, didn't happen to.
