Wasn't sleep meant to be an instrument of rest?
Calling it an instrument sounds weird to me, but am sure you already got my message.
Sharing the whole experience with Carson made it feel more scary. Sleep was now becoming more than a chance to rest. I was beginning to see it as something bigger. Something I don’t have the best word to describe for now.
I gradually dozed with my mind prepared for anything that would show up.
Reality slipped away in darkness and another plane emerged. I was in my taxi driving on the highway. I had a passenger but I couldn’t turn to see the person siting behind.
It was just like the last one. I had control but not total. I just had that sensation that someone or something was with me in the car but I couldn't turn to see. I was shocked. My eyes were on the road when a black car drove by. The car was like the batmobil. All black with this badass exterior design with tinted windows. I accelerated hoping with race with the supercar. A truck was coming towards me. I turned the wheels towards the left, but the car veered itself to the right. I tried mashing the brake but nothing was happening. It was like the car had suddenly developed a mind of it own. The supercar I wanted to chase was gone, but my car wasn’t slowing down. I checked my speedometer and was saw nine hundred miles per hour. Everything began to go blur until it was all nothing. Just grey faint light.
And suddenly, everything shifted. I was still in the cab but everything was so cool that I could hear the crickets. It was how night and this particular one is very creepy. As if the night wasn't odd enough, a black cat with blood dipping from its neck, walked across the street meowing faintly as it went by.
Then I noticed I was in front of a pet cemetery.
Sitting in my car, I saw a van halting in front. The door opened. The instancevthey touched down, they started jogging towards me. I sensed those weren't there to make me not break workout routine. I tried starting the car but nothing was happening. I also tried getting out of the cat but my seatbelt won’t release me. One stopped in front of my car, while the other two came to the passenger side. They opened the door and dragged out someone. The person was a female but I couldn’t see the face as she screamed as she was been taken away. The two men dragged into the van. The last one that was standing in front of me slowly raises his hand and in a swift powerful motion, coupled with groaning, he smashed my bonnet. The force been so raw levitated the car. Before the car would hit the ground again, I slipped back to reality.
I woke up panting with a little harsher headache than the last. I sat up trying to think of what I just saw. Then I heard sound from the living room. I went out if my room and saw Theodore watching a movie series.
“Hey bro. How are you doing now?”
“Fine,” I said as I sat down. “You just arrived?”
He sipped from the cup of mango juice in his front. He licked his lip and answered, “I came about forty minutes ago. You were sleeping.”
