名為賽拉爾的埃塞傳人候補者，為了拯救精靈苡蝶隨時可能耗盡燈枯的性命，逕自將芳華年僅十八歲就因毒身亡的美娣雅復活。

他們隱居在挑戰者大陸其中一座山的小木屋裡，期間美娣雅見識到這片神秘大陸的奇幻力量，及其致命的危險性，讓她領悟到也許民間自古流傳的神話都是真實歷史。

她幫助賽拉爾擺脫他的另一個人格，因而換來可以自由活動的允許，也因此，這間隱世小屋被發誓要對埃塞後裔趕盡殺絕的『土』之一族，又稱卡雷遺族的團體盯上。

同時，巧遇故人的美娣雅面臨究竟要追隨愛情，還是協助賽拉爾醫好苡蝶的難題下猶豫不決。這一切，在愛人和苡蝶的犧牲下化為泡影，深感內疚的美娣雅決定完成苡蝶的遺願：前往失落的文明——埃塞帝國——尼沛得，一窺傳說中已然絕種的實淼花朵。

賽拉爾亦在卡雷遺族的追殺下，決定前往尼沛得探索神諭的秘密，在心中發誓，即使突破重重難關也要成為埃塞傳人。神諭：

    偕同最佳泮生

    真摯獻禮水神

    迎接榮耀復生

    最終仍須犧牲
