As I Lay Here...

As I lay here right now,

I see stars above.

I see stars that have an everlasting flame,

A flame that could make or break me with one look.

As I lay here I see her face in the night sky.

I hear her sweet voice whispering to me,

"I love you dear, worry no longer, you will see me soon."

And in that moment I know she is here.

I know she remembers me and no longer wants me in pain.

As I lay here starring into the night sky and listening to her voice

I feel a sense of peace for the first time since she left me here,

in this God forsaken town all alone.

I feel love in her presence.

I feel safe when I hear her soft, loving voice.

As I lay here thinking of her I feel something I've never known.

A love that is to strong to part with, a love that is everlasting.

Like the stars I see above.

My love for her is a star in the night sky,

a flame unable to be extinguished,

a strength,

a weakness,

and the most unbearable pain

, I fear,

is parting with such love.
