Camp Crystal Lake has a death curse. 

When two campers are dead, and mysterious accidents, and fires, it is closed for two decades. 

In 1977, Steve Christy, the son of the original owners, saves up $25,000 to fix up the camp with his girlfriend, Alice Hardy, a California artist, and Assistant Camp Counsellor, as several campers, as well as others, arrive unaware that a killer is on the loose bent on revenge.
