Artyom volt az a gyerek akinek abban a tudatban kellett élnie és felnőnie hogy a szüleit nem lárhatja többé. És ez nem egy holmi válás miatt hanem egy atomháború kitörése miatt történt. Gyerekkorába nagybátyja ígéretet tett szüleinek. Bármi is történik meg fogja védeni a gyereket és meg fogja tanítani túlélni. Amikor kitört a háború mindenki a Metrókba menekült. És mindenki elkezdett túlélni. 

A Metro sorozat Dmitri Glukhovsky bestseller regénye amit mai napig mindenféle formában imádok. Ezen regények ihlettek meg hogy írjak egy előzménytörténetet arról, mi is történt azelőtt hogy Artyom harcba szállt a Feketéknek nevezett lényekkel.
