Fixing my necktie in front of the mirror inside the public restroom which was located in the 2nd floor of this mansion, as a preparation for yesterday's birthday party. It was 16th of August, one of my brother was celebrating his birthday in the patio. I grabbed my wig cap after I was finished fixing my necktie , next I inserted the wig cap in my head firmly to make sure it won't be visible later when I put on my wig. In the minutes of silence , I was focused. Gladly, there was no one with me in the rest room yesterday. Yet the beep from my watch caught me of guard , I was nervous for a second. The beep was a reminder of yesterdays temperature, which was 39 degrees Fahrenheit. It was a warm day. I was finally done preparing after 25 minutes with the male disguised look. Smiling while raising one hand with thumbs up, I told my self in the mid air that I was ready. Just when I was about to enter the patio , I felt nostalgic for no reason. I bring my head up to see the night fell in California as the crescent moon dimly lit up the sky , curved by sorrow under the reflection in my eyes yesterday. It was also the Thursday stars that sparked the night sky yesterday like miniature diamonds. A gift of nature. What more could I ask for? Staring at my reflection from the patio wall , I was indeed looking like a male server. I have seen my self yesterday wearing : Polka dotted red and black polo shirt , Black pants , shiny bow tie , tucked in style which makes me feel superior, including the male wig that was color black. An hour before the party , I was practicing how to serve guests and entertain them. This was the plan I wanted. A plan that was a bit risky for me to do. If I wasn't told about the unknown person who breached my fathers study room , then I would not have done all of this. As I entered the patio , I saw famous people from political families , government workers , popular architects and engineers, also some rising stars in the business industry. To avoid suspicion in any case , I did what I supposed to do---Serve and entertain guests. When the party was about to began , the lights from each sides were turned off. I hear people mumbled. By the time she was about to talk the spotlight from the center turned on , rotating the light everywhere until it stopped at my third brothers presence in the stage. Mekhi Owen , the youngest brother in the household. 7 years of gap in our age, born with green eyes. Major in Entrepreneurship other than that he also do modelling as a cover in the magazine. He gazed at the side were I stand, it seems like he was searching for someone. And I was right , from the distance there was a uniformed guard; One of Mekhi's trusted personnel. It was one of those nights that my brain worked smart. I didn't want to go away from where I was standing, clearly near the cater. So I asked Arya to do me a favor in distracting Mekhi's guard. When he moved --stating about Mekhi's guard, I chose to let him slipped off my sight, for now. I had nothing else to worry yesterday, no problems in the party , no signs of other doubtful people. I looked at my other brother that was walking towards the chair that has been put down at the center. River Owen--the celebrant who just turned twenty seven, also the second youngest brother in the household that does not like to argue nor start a fight was born with amber eyes , domineering in making someone visually pleased. You could tell he is a good person by just looking at his immaculate face--not his eyes. But it was not different as Mekhi in other words , if Mekhi was not born then River would not be entitled as the good brother in this family.
I was about to move away from my stand point unfortunately , a woman wearing a pair of designer dangled earrings, red high quality round neck chiffon with yellow beads , open back , high slit dress, poured her wine on me. She got flustered. So I gave her a re-assuring smile to avoid attention from different people. "It's ok." yet she did not seem to noticed that. After she hurriedly took her handkerchief out from her purse , her hands are all over my chest which I reacted in a rude manner--I accidentally slapped her hands away from me. She looked at me with distressed. I tried to say something but there were no words that came out from my mouth. I was supposed to say 'Sorry' but instead I just bowed as a motion of thanking her, it could also have different meaning like apologizing , greeting and respecting. I proceed with a few steps as I left her , I was looking at the surrounding making sure I will depart from the patio with no eyes following me. When I was aware that no one looked at me , I continued taking a step out from that place. In addition the strong smell from the wine on my shirt makes me want to puke. My room was on the 4th floor. So instead of taking the stairs , I alternatively took the elevator. The elevator dinged as I reach the 4th floor , the carpet in this hallway was like a exquisite roman hotel alongside from above was a five spiral raindrop; long chandeliers that have approximately 10 feet away from each other. This was the best part in the mansion as the center of attraction from the visitors that who go to the fifth floor , for business only. In this area , there are only 8 rooms and we are not allowed to explore each room due to respecting each others privacy --including the guest rooms. I was pausing in front of my door , thinking that if we can afford such a huge mansion then father should have written charities in my tasks. Only if they are interested. The smell of jasmine welcomed me as I entered my room but immediately got disrupted by the scent of wine. I shut the door prior to unbuttoning the polo shirt I was wearing. In silence I was avoiding a thought about what would happen afterwards. In my head --'I can not believe that I did not attain any clues related to fathers home office'. I took the picture frame that was placed in my study table-- it has 2 people in it; Me and Father--year 2015 this photo was taken inside his home office , I was 8 years old standing beside father holding caramel , my dog that died on the same year. He held me close , like a princess. I was smiling unknowingly until a knock outside my door caught my attention back to reality. "Milady--" As Arya entered my room she sang with high pitch tone , that made me cover one ear using one hand --the other hand was holding the polo that got stained and helped me cover my upper body , it was to late to realize my stupid move. Arya looked at me puzzled. "Milady, Are you alright?" Arya always had my back , from the day we met --in between the year 2011, I found her in the streets of Maple City being bullied by wealthy children that are older than me . I ask permission to hire her as my personal maid to my father , he did not agree at first since Arya has no background. But after I pleaded over and over again , he finally took her in with me. As we both grew up , all I know about her was she's an orphan; that's about it. I was walking towards the closet to grab some new clothes to wear , specifically a dress. Since I have a feeling that I would be called to go to stage. "Arya, come here. Help me pick some clothes to wear at the party." While looking at Arya shoving some clothes out the wardrobe as she was picking and putting some clothes on the other side separately to distinguish what should I wear later. I knew , we were destined to meet. She was an orphan but now she was a part of me, a family. Arya cheerfully looked at me while holding a black leather wrap dress that has plunging neckline with pleated details from the waist to hip, long sleeve with diamond button and padded shoulders plus an easy versatile belt.
