When we were under attack I started losing my mind

When we couldn´t fall back and I heard my comrades cry

When we were cornered you could hear bullets fly

That day I remembered I joined the army to die

In civil life not much worked out

Disgusted by reality I searched for a way out

In death I found possible solution

Problem was, not enough resolution

I was too scared, to take my own life

I had not dared, so I didn´t die

I continued to live, disgusted by life

Until I thought, I´ll join the army to die

I´ll get myself killed while serving my nation

Maybe they´ll decorate my coffin with a ribbon

That´s how it was but now I would lie

If I said I´m still, in the army to die

I went through some shit, yet I survived

But others didn´t make it out alive

Their will to live had become mine

People who wanted to live, they were ones to die

I now stand, for those who had fallen

I live for them, who died for me

I will survive, not to be depressed again

It is for them, who joined the army but died

I now know, I fully understand

Even if I die, someone else will stand

They´ll carry my thoughts, memories to the end

Just as I do, for those who before me went

Not anymore, will I want to die

Even when I´m disgusted by life

Because many for me have died

And for them, I must survive

To live and to remember

Heroes who had died
