The female officer sitting across me shook her head, sending her blacks bangs to the side. I believe her name was Nina, or something like that. Her hands grabed a hold of mine on the table and her eyes pleaded with to see reason. She began to try to comfort me, though i couldn't hear a thing. My ears were deaf to her gently words, they we're cloged from brother bitter tears, he still wept in the corner with my mother.
"Lilly, it wasn't your fault. It was accident, you didn't mean to shoot your father."
I must commend her on her word choice.
"Now, that a couple days have passed, can you tell me what happened?"
I subconsciously turned to my mother and brother who we're on the other side of the room. They huged each, slowly quivering under the pressure for their pain. I wish, I could release their pain.
I looked at Nina and began to speak.

The feeling of remorse boils my blood and Burns my inner skin. My bones liquify from heat, I can't bare to stand. So, feet melt, and I slid against the wall.
I never ment to kill him, it just happen. I didn't mean to fire the gun, to pull that cold black trigger. But he told me too. Through the struggle he begged me to.
My father fought with a home invader, a robber. Some bastard who choose my house over all the others on my block. The movement we heard noise downstairs he was ready with his pistol.
He was ready to defend his family.
He warned me to stay with my sleeping little brother, locked up in my room, because it would be safer and call 911. I listened and sat quitely on the floor near my brother with my hand clenched tightly on the phone. My fingers shook on the bright LCD screen, I had already fumbled with my phone twice at this point.
I barely pressed the call button when, I heard a loud cry and glass smashing on the floor. I froze in place with the phone in my ear. I simply couldn't move or saying anything to the emergency operator, their voice buzzed in my ear, but my mind was elsewhere.
my mind was split between logic and my fears for my father. He was pushing fifty with arthritis in his knees and right hand.
So, I had to see, I needed to know what was happening.
I foolishly hung up the phone and I looked across the room to where my metal softball bat lay. With a slow tremble I had walked over and reached for it, my resolve was set.
I unlocked the door and walked softly in the hallway, then I locked door and headed for the stairs.
By this point the gruff sound of fight was predominate with each passing step. When I finally managed to make to stairs, I felt sweat and fear run down my back.
All I had to do was keep moving forward and help my father. I stared at the first stair, my body temperature pike, as my bare foot made contact with cold stair.
I moved down stairs to the last one which lead to the living room. It wasn't too dark thanks to diffrent night lights placed. I saw the furniture was turned over and glass cover rugs. As I moved closer to kitchen my foot glide against a black weapon, a gun. I placed down my bat and replaced it with the gun and I moved closer to the sound and see two figure fight.
I raised gun up and spoke." S-top"
"Lilly?" My father questioned.
He was underneath a masked man. Said man held my dad at gunpoint . He said he would shoot my dad if I moved. I couldn't see my fathers face but I heard him loud and clear; Forget me and shoot him.

"So, I aimed and fired, but masked man pushed my father forward as he ran out the back door" I said as I hugged myself.
Nina nodded as she finished writing down my statement. She placed her pen down, onto her folder. Her brown eyes looked in mind and told me one last it wasn't my fault, before walking out the room. Another officer enter tell us a sketch artist would be here shortly.
When he left, it was just me and my remaining family members who we're now silent. Words were unable at the moment, any words shared would only deepen my Isolation from them.
