As I'm packing up my last stuff, I hear my mom yell, "JASMINE HURRY UP OR WE'LL BE LATE!" I sigh softly not wanting to leave. I've made a ton of memories here. I found my best friend here. Had my first kiss here. Threw so many parties here. Everything that need or want is here except for my dad. He died 7 months ago and now it's just me and my mom. She wanted to forget everything about him to reduce the pain of losing him. So she got a job in California and I was so happy for her to see her smile again. I knew if I said I didn't wanna go she'd be really sad again. Of course I said yes and then she told we were moving in 4 days. Well today's that day. 4 hour ride here I come.
When we get to the airport, my mom starts double checking everything. She gave me 20 dollars to go buy breakfast since we had to go so early. As I was walking to an open spot to sit, my best friend Mya texted me. "Do you have to go", she said with a sad emoji. I relied saying, "Yea I'm gonna miss you so much but I promise to call." As I sent it, thoughts rushed through my mind of what would happen in a couple years or even months. Would she get stop talking to me? Would she forget about me? And the most important thing to me was would she forget about me? I came out of my thoughts when my mom called me, "Come on. They called us." I sighed as I texted Mya for the last time because we can't call or text anyone on the plane. I placed my luggage in the compartment above my seat and then sat down. My mom was in the bathroom so I made sure to save her the seat next to me. I grab my airpods and my phone to listen to Spotify.
I stare out the window looking at the Disney World Castle for the last time when my mom taps me. "Are you ok?" she says with a face that shows she's worried. I just smile and tell her, "I'm fine. Don't worry about me. I'll learn to love California as much as I love Florida." She smiled back at me before she told me that she was going to take a nap. I nodded and played my song again. Before I knew it, I was sleep too.
I woke up about 2 minutes before the plane stopped. I woke up my mom and told her we were getting ready to land. As soon as we landed, she grabbed our luggage and then said, "the U-Haul truck won't be here until tomorrow around 5 so I booked us a hotel ok?" But I wasn't really paying attention I was just think about Florida and if I made the right choice to come here. "Jasmine hello. Are you awake orrrr...", she slightly yelled. I snapped out of my thoughts, smiled and said, "Yeah. Let's go so we're not late." My mom called an Uber and we drove of to this fancy hotel. We went in but I bumped into someone. Well two people.
???:"Watch where your going Ama-. Oh sorry I thought you were my friend" she said with worry.
It was a girl with brunette hair and blonde highlights. She wore a grey tank top with a black jacket. One side of the jacket was off her shoulder. Her jeans were filled with holes everywhere. They kinda looked like the ones I wore last week. And she had two necklaces that read "Daemon" "Reid"
It took a few moment to remember and then it snapped in my head. I gasped and almost yelled, "Daemon??"
