It had been a normal day. Playing soccer. As usual.
Until it happened. And it ruined everything.
There was a gasp that seemed to ripple through the crowd like it was still water.
And then Fubuki dropped to the ground, the scarlet seeping out of his chest.
Even Someoka recoiled in horror as Kageyama Reiji turned to face them, the pistol in his hand smoking. He loaded another bullet.
"So... who's next?"
Raimon was frozen.
The weapon was pointed up and at its next random victim - Tachimukai.
He gasped, his eyes full of the same fear a young child would have had of the dark - except the fate about to befall him would definitely be much, much worse.
"No, way, dude! I'm not gonna let you take a shot at my lil' buddy!"
In an instant, Tsunami was there in front of the gun, his arms out.
"No, Hurley-" Tachimukai had whispered-
BANG.
-Only too late.
The boy with the pink hair went down with a thud.
Endou rolled up his sleeves.
"Kageyama!" he shouted at the top of his voice. "Stop this!"
But Kageyama only proceeded to smile evily as he held the gun up once again, locked, loaded and deadly.
He stood, glued to the spot, expecting to be pumped full of lead-
BANG.
-Only to see his best friend and Raimon's ace striker go down to save him.
He stared down in disbelief as Gouenji lay motionless at his feet, his blood as deep in colour as his Fire Tornado.
Toramaru growled.
"No-one treats Gouenji Shuuya like that - not if I can help it!"
He lunged at the holder of the gun; and then went down like his idol as another gunshot resonated through the air.
Kageyama loaded the gun.
Tachimukai went down.
Load.
Kazemaru.
Load.
Midorikawa.
Load.
Kidou.
Load.
Hiroto.
Then every one else, on the ground, bleeding and motionless.
Except Endou.
"Endou Mamoru." The words rolled off Kageyama's tongue like crimson red velvet. "I have a little something special for you."
And then he turned and walked off as if nothing had happened.
Endou remained to stare at the bloodbath around him.
The tears welled up in his eyes.
"You guys...!"
He whispered it so dangerously quietly.
And then...
A dash of long green hair.
"A-a-phrodi..! Y-you'r-re no-t-t d-dead...?" He stammered.
"Yes." His soft voice emanated from the bushes behind Endou, and he emerged in a red top and beige jeans. But something... something wasn't quite right.
"Thank God...!" Endou's voice was wet with crying.
Aphrodi's mouth curved into a smile.
"Aphrodi...?"
He chuckled.
"Aphrodi...!"
"It seems my plan went very well."
It was only then that Endou noticed his red tinted eyes, and the black shiny pistol, identical to Kageyama's that lay in Aphrodi's hands.
BANG.
Endou went down.
From the bushes behind also lay a boy with long, tea-green hair; bound, gagged and brown eyes full of terror.
Aphrodi's evil clone with the red-tinted eyes turned and loaded his final bullet into the pistol.
Aphrodi shuddered.
The gun was now aimed at him.
Now, it seemed, he was going to join Raimon in their deaths.
The clone's finger closed in on the trigger.
One last glance at Endou, lying in a pool of his own blood.
A silent prayer.
