She closed the door, then she was prepared for the evening ahead.

Paul Markham rang the front doorbell.

'I'll get it', Oliver Markham, Paul's father, said.

He hated to be interrupted by the football game. He smiled at the teenager. 'How are you, Sir?', he asked him.

'Ah, I'm writing my crime novel at the moment. The usual fare. Hey, do you like the New York Giants?'.

'No. I follow the New York Yankees baseball team'.

'Daddy...', Anna said.

'Don't be too late', Elizabeth Markham said.

She hugged her, and smiled.

She was dressed in a coat, black dress, black stockings, and grey shoes on her feet. Her short, black hair was cut short; her blue eyes focused on the boy. 'We can walk to the woods', Paul said.
