“Best friend!” Cherish whines behind you. “Hm?” You hum, distracted by texting your cousin, Zion to make sure she is ready for tomorrow. Tomorrow you guys as in you, Cherish, Radiate, Zion, and Latavia are going on a trip to Los Angeles, California. You have never been there before so you are super excited. Radiate told you that she found a super huge hotel room. She didn’t tell you anything else though. She is the plane ticket holder so she made it her job to get you all a nice hotel room. You all saved up money for months and you ended up with 6,900 dollars. And your airplane ticket was not cheap at all.
“Y/n!” Cherish says. “What!?” You say. “Can you make some food?” Cherish says. “No. Go eat some damn ramen, girl.” You say. “No!” She says. “Yes! The fuck?” You say, sitting your phone up against your window on the windowsill by your bed. You sit on your bed. Your room doesn’t look like your room anymore. Your LED lights, your makeup (which you really don’t need), the giant bear you won at the fair, your art supplies, and most of your clothes were packed up inboxes.
You are moving to your godbrother, Jariston’s house after your trip to L.A. You promised your mom that you’d move out before you were 21. Your brother, Zahir said he’d move out before he was 20. You go to Jariston’s number. You press the FaceTime icon. “Who’re you calling?” Cherish asks, getting in the camera. “Nobody.” You say. Then Jariston’s face pops up. “Hey, Lil homie!” He said. “First of all, stop--” You start but you don't finish because you are suddenly on the floor. “Did you just push me for him!?” You say to Cherish. She looks down at you. “Sorry, best friend. Are you hurt?” She says. “Yeah. Emotionally.” You say. “I’m sorry.” She says. You stick up the middle finger. She smirks.
She turns to your phone. “Hey, Jariston!” She says. “Hey, cherry berry.” He answers. You roll your eyes and jump up off the floor. “Like I was saying,” You say looking at Cherish. “Before I was almost killed.” You say. Cherish laughs and lays back down on your bed. “You better stop calling me ‘Lil homie’. Dancing all these years will get you fucked up.” You say. “Shut. Up. Really?” Jariston says, acting brand new, like he didn't drive you to dance practice when he got his license. “J, lemme tell you something. I’ve been dancing since I was 3 years old. If I were to kick you in your dick, you’d be wasted. Deadass.” You say, calmly. “Whatever! What do you want?” Jariston says. “Some dick.” Cherish says under her breath. “What!? What’s so funny?” Jariston says. “N-n-nothing.” You say, starting to calm down. “Okay. Whatever. Now for real, Y/n. Why did you call me?” He says. “What? I can’t call you or something?” You say. “Come on, Y/n!” He says. “Fine. Fine. What’s the plan for tomorrow?” You say. Jariston thinks for a minute. “How about this. I go pick up Zion and the others and bring them to your house.” He says. “Where are you going after?” You say. “Nowhere. I still have to bring you all to the airport so I’ll just wait at my momma’s house while you get ready and stuff.” He says. “Oh. You really are not going anywhere.” You say. He was your neighbor when you all were young. Now his brothers, his mom and his step-dad are there. Not him. His mom’s house is within walking distance. “Well, what about moving?” You say. “Ummm. I have an idea. When you come back since I’ll be picking you up, I’ll drive you to your house and drop you off. Then I’ll send you my address and you drive to my house.” He says. “Okay. Cool.” You say. Cherish laughs. You glance at her. Then back to your phone. And then she gasps loud as hell. You look at her sideways. “Y/n!” She whisper-yells. “Huh?” You say. She shakes her head. “Nevermind.” She says. You shrug. “Well, that’s all.” You say to Jariston. “Okay.” He says. “Love you, ugly.” You say. “Love you too, Lil homie.” He says, smirking. You roll your eyes. Cherish gets up and waves. “Bye, berry.” He says. You make a throw-up face. You hang up and turn off your phone. Then you go flying again. “Now go make me some chicken tacos!” Cherish says looking down at you. “You little fucker.” She says, smirking.
