It wasn’t her fault

It wasn’t theirs either

It was his

He caused all these nonexistent problems

And he made it his job to make them feel big and realistic

And so she ignored them

Told herself that they weren’t there

That

Wasn’t real

That she would get better

And that makes her feel significantly powerful

But after Sunday mass

She realizes that there’s a lot to cry about

And so she does

But to make herself feel better

She blames it on the lack of money

The lack of communication

The lack of attention

So then, she blames them

She yells at them

Tells them to shut up

HURTS

Them

And when they get home

She cries by her window

Observing the gray sky above her

Acknowledging the fact that the problem is not him

But rather her

Because she lets him in

She lets him ruin her

And so she believes that she doesn’t belong there.

She belongs with the greater Him

She just wants to go home

But doesn’t

For them.

So for now,

She’ll cry by her bedroom window on Sundays after church.
