No more grime, no more spite,

I am a new man.

Sun grazed my pallid face,

Warmed it with a sense of rejuvenation;

Painted mine eyes hazel to blue.

New times signify new beginnings,

Yesterday's pain is today's angsty gain,

Isn't it cheap to stifle your sanity?

Reluctant muscles refuse to budge,

Keep tabs, pale silver sky,

I am grinning underneath my mandatory "medical" cloth.

Nothing will hinder me today,

For the weariness has faded,

The pain checked out for a temporary vacation,

The ache dissipated, allowing a gentle 'goodbye' to sail across the wind.

I am a new man.

I am free.
