New York, 1966. 

April Lowe is a sixteen year old teenager who rebels against her conservative parents, John and Margaret Lowe, who can't stand how she can listen to rock and roll music, parties at her sorority house, and meeting boys at the fraternity house. As a result, April has to deal with the Civil Rights Movement, the Vietnam War, and school politics, that creates all kinds of problems.
