The ceiling fan turned round and round as I watched it for hours on end. I did this so I didn't have to look at the people who surrounded my bed.
"You can't just ignore us."
I blinked.
"We aren't leaving."
I closed my eyes and let out a prolonged sigh.
"The docter says aren't real." I tried to metaphorically stand up to the monsters that were standing there.
"Of course we aren't real! But what makes you think that'll make us leave you alone?"
I covered my eyes with my hands and groaned.
"Please?"
"Hehe... No."
"Worth a shot," I admited. I threw off my covers and sat up in bed.
The monsters that surrounded me were people; people no one else could see, people that won't ever leave. And because of them, I am considered crazy.
"Mom! The people are back again!"
"The doctor said they aren't real, honey!"
The people grinned with that response. I closed my eyes and sighed.
I am trully on my own.
