"You know they are laughing at you, right?" Sammy asked. 

"No. They are not." I answered. "They are laughing at something else."

She laughed. And it rung.

It rung. 

It rung. 

Her laughter was getting on my nerves. Still, she continued to laugh. I gritted my teeth in anger and closed my eyes. But still, she laugh. 

"Shut up!" I shouted as I stood up and threw my things in front of me. 

Everyone turned to look at me. Eyes questioning. Eyes laughing. Laughing at me. 

Why does Sammy keeps on bugging me? I mean- there's plenty of us here and still, she chose me. 

I didn't want her. All she do was disturb the peace I wanted. 

"Hey, Sam." Carol called, sneering my name. "Speaking with your friend again?"

I nodded. And before I could say anything she and her friends laughed. 

I was bewildered. Was it so wrong to talk to Sammy? Was it so funny? We were all orphans here. Abandoned by our parents. Sammy maybe a pain in my head but we were still the same. 

So, I never understood why they were so against her. 

"You know, I really hate these girls." She whispered. "But nevertheless, soon they will be gone."

I didn't answer her. I didn't knew how. Her statement was said in such a mnner that made the hair in the back of my neck raise. It was spoken sinisterly. 

Specially since she was so sure that they will be gone.

I was awoken by someone tugging at my shirt. I turned to look and saw Sammy smiling at me. She pulled me out of my bed and towards Carol's and her friends' bed. 

"See, I told you!" Sammy exclaimed gleefully. "Now they can say nothing about you and me anymore."

I fell to my knees as blood dripped from every corner of the beds. Their eyes glassy and lifeless. And I couldn't stop the scream that escape my throat.

"What did you do?" The woman that was managing the house shouted in fear and anger as she entered the room. 

"It wasn't me!" I cried. "I swear!"

She pulled me roughly off the floor and pointed to my left hand. My eyes dropped to it and saw that I was holding a knife. I let it fall to the floor.

"I promise! It wasn't me! It was Sammy!" I cried. "It was Sammy!"

But she wouldn't hear any of it. And all I remember next was two men in white putting me into a straight jacket. Pulling me inside an ambulance. 

I cried and pleaded for them to let me go. But they strapped me down into the stretcher and closed the door. 

Sammy appeared and ran a hand down my hair and smiled down at me. 

"Shush," she lulled. "Sam, Sam, Sam." She sang. 

"Tell them that I didn't do it! Tell them it was you. Please!" I pleaded.

She laughed. A cold sound that send goose bumps all over me. "But it was you. You did it, Sammy."
