how many mph?

too many.

we dove into the depths

of red, running on the faint scents-

outskirts of cherry trees,

lake waters glistening

blueyellowwhite

black, and the loss

of perception of self and sense.

we raced against 60

pushing 95

two separate vessels

two speeds

duality.

we drowned

but I was the only one to

awaken-

they pulled me over

they abandoned my anguish

it is balance I seek

to set my cruise to 55.

there are no gifted hands here,

though.

just sharp peaks,

cavernous valleys,

and a series of unfortunate-ly

lovely, and unfaltering.

I surface, superficial health

finally, now, seeking

security-
