Things that are so damn wrong with Itachi’s character!
I found this great meta-piece on Itachi that says all that needs to be said about Itachi and his fans, along with ItaSaku and Sakura fans, who also happen to be Sasuke haters (it’s got a lot of morbid humor, so be prepared for that):

But this needed to be posted again. Itachi also never accepted that he was wrong:
No, he backed his own decision, taken when he was alive, to commit genocide even after death. No, he wanted the Uchiha to change. Since they didn’t change, they had to go. I see this a lot in Fan-Fictions where he’s all mopey and sad about his decisions; but when did Itachi ever regret committing a genocide? No, he didn’t. His dialogue is plain as day.
Let’s not forget that the Uchiha clan was pushed to the outside of the village before the Kyuubi attack ever happened:
Even Orochimaru called Tobirama out on this:
Imagine a criminal like Orochimaru who killed small children telling you that your methods of governance are beyond unethical. That’d be a wake-up call for me, not Tobirama, I suppose. He likes being a bigot that doubles down on his segregational political policies. After the Kyuubi attack, they just got the excuse to eliminate them. The clan was already marginalized, politically and literally. After the Kyuubi attack, they had had enough of the isolation. And Itachi knew that his clan didn’t have a hand in this (he was a double-agent and a part of all the secret clan meetings), but he never bothered to clear his clan’s name!
