有人的地方就有老鼠。人與老鼠是天生的敵人，同時是天生的鄰居。多數人討厭老鼠，多數老鼠也不見得喜歡人。牠們是徹頭徹尾的傳播惡毒的黑暗使者，伺機征服人類，霸佔他們的土地，然後扮作人的模樣，建立一套極具權力但極度無知的制度與文化。只有天生異稟的廟鼠亞米沒有遺傳這種基因，而他竟然被挑選成為阻止同類邪惡行為的戰士。
