Part 1: The Horrendous discovery.
Location: Harmons Grove Asylum.
Date: October 5th, 1958.
Interview Subject: Harold Johnston.
James into the recorder: Im standing outside the Harmons Grove Asylum, where im about to meet my contact Mr Harold Johnston. He is known as the discoverer of the ancient tombs. Im about to enter the asylum, and ask him all about the event from the year 1915.
Receptionist: Name and occupation.
James: James Randolf, meeting up with Harold Johnston for an interview.
Receptionist: Alright, your fine, let him in.
James: Thank you. Have a great day.
James into the recorder: Im walking through the narrow hallways of the creepy asylum, lots of crazies thirsty for some killing it seems. Im about enter the empty living room to talk to Harold, he seems to have a long story to tell me.
Harold: In here kid. I switched rooms for personal reasons, here sit down.
James: Pleased to meet you Sir! Ive been waiting for a chance like this for a long time. I mean what you guys found became a global popularity, the tomb had been abandoned for millennials. The feeling must be good right?
Harold: Pleased to meet you too, heard alot about you, you are told to be the best journalist in town. But yeah at first, seeing the tomb... man! i couldn´t believe my eyes. It was right there, in front of my eyes… but some things should stay buried, and unfortunately this was one of those things.
James: Can you elaborate on that a little bit?
Harold: Now, im about to tell you what really happened inside of those tombs. But so that you will understand, i will have to start from the very start. Im already inside of the looney bin, i got nothing left to lose, i was the only survivor for some reason. You might be my only chance to get the full story out of this place, but even if not, it will one way or the other.
James: Who told you about the Tomb?
Harold: We got a letter from a personal business associate of ours, he said that he might have found some prove of an ancient life. He said the artifact was maybe about a thousand years old, the Green Emerald of Sumeria. Thats at least what they called it back there. He said the tombs were located back in Sumeria in some “forest of the ancients”. We were supposed to meet with a contact in a diner in the area called Poppos diner. The contacts name was Daryl Jenkins, some guy wearing a basic spy uniform, a leather jacket, the sunglasses, the hat, the whole shenanigan.
Before we went to Sumeria, i grabbed a bunch of people of my choosing to go with, for the trip i wanted the best ones, my friends, the only ones who took this trip serious the entire way. Lets see, there was Michael, Dr Horowitz, Hayley, Samantha, Robert and Francis and there was also a Randolf who joined us along but he wasn´t a part of the group.
The guy was a tourist, looking for the same thing, a tomb in the middle of a forest.
James: and when did you meet the contact?
Harold: We met with him the next day. We got on the plane on our way to Sumeria, and we arrived around the next day. We had a scheduled meeting with him around 9:30 am on the saturday at a certain diner he chose. Poppos diner, the really weird place in the middle of nowhere on an isolated road definitely didn´t give us a nice comfort that this was going to end well.
The man was weird, he seemed shy, didn´t say much, kept his distance, but all he had to do was lead us there, and he would be gone out of there. His face was almost visible, but it was like he was hiding his face inside of the leather jacket, all he ever said to us was “Lets get going” with a voice like he had been smoking his lungs out for many many decades.
We made our way through this trail, on the other side of the diner, it was leading upwards to an isolating location full of silence and nothingness. All we ever heard throughout the walk were our footsteps, no birds, no trees moving, no wind, no rain, not even a sun shining anywhere near us. There was definitely something up with this trip, and i noticed it right away.
My friends didn´t though, it was like they were smiling the whole way there, it never left their faces, all of them, the closer we got the weirder it felt, the weirder things got. The contact was just walking strangely, something he didn´t do at the beginning of this trip, sic sacking back and fourth.
Before i knew it, our contact had vanished, it was unnatural, i looked around for a few seconds and then there was no one in front of us anymore.
But we did find something. It wasn´t what we were expecting, but we found some worn out place… right there in front of our eyes. We all gave a huge smile to each other and ran towards it, admiring the whole thing front top to bottom.
The cool thing about it were the symbols written all over it. The shape was… beautiful.
It was pointing up, all spiked up on all sides, it was like a… sarcophacus. At least thats what it looked like inside the circle, the symbol was blinking, as if it was active, a green color came along with it, making it even more visible.
I was in shock, the discovery felt huge! But it was very old for sure, it seemed thousand years old. This wasn´t even the worst part though. No, no no no. We found the wall leading into the tomb, it looked like it was a tad bit open at the time, but we took some torches that were set up on the side of the wall.
Haley, she uh, she kept stopping many times staring into nothingness, the trail further into the tombs also had side trails, something was whispering on each side of those trails, inside of that tomb waiting for us to come closer. We could hear the breathing in the distance, the further you went in, the more loud it got.
The side trails, were the ones that she kept looking into, her breathing became more and more intense the longer she looked into the darkness.
I asked her what she was looking at, but she never gave me an answer.
I told her to just ignore it, and we should keep on going.
She agreed of course. But she was still on edge, i just thought it was the phobia of tight spaces, but i don´t know, it didn´t feel like that.
Once we got into the middle area or the tomb, thats when we found it… The two artifacts that changed our lifes forever. I didn´t understand what i was looking at.
Besides the beautiful Green Emerald, there was something else next to it. That item was some sort of cube, something extremely strange. It was like the cube was waking up from a long coma, at first there was no light, but then it shone into our face, giving us a big bright light.
I grabbed it, tried shaking it. Nothing happened though, yet. We grabbed the Emerald and the cube, put it into some bags we grabbed along with us. We didn´t leave yet, we decided to look around a bit more, take some samples, with a bit of a sweep of each area. Hell, we even discovered some nice old rooms, it's just as old and fascinating as you´d expect.
James: You never mentioned the cube to anybody else did you?
Harold: No, the cube was worse than the Emerald in some ways, horrific ways im afraid.
And thats where the next part comes in, when we were about to leave the tombs, the cube started to act up, shaking endlessly, even jumping out of the bag on it's own and onto the dusty ground!
The cube did something i never thought my eyes would be able to see… The thing evolved spewing some disgusting black goo all over the room! Turning two of my friends (Michael and Haley) into… some things! Their body became black mold at this point, crumbling to pieces eventually.
But what happened after that, was the most terrifying part, it was like their pieces of crumbled body was coming t0gether, to become one thing. As it was evolving into a big mold like… thing, the screams off my friends were heard from rooms away, some getting trapped in something like a dark hole way into the ground, made to take down any of the trespassers who stumble upon the room. But they were dead because of the fall… there was nothing i could have done.
The one who fell down the hole was Samantha. Thats how she died. She was the luckiest one by the way she died, i´d rather fall down a big hole than get transformed into one of those molded things, that i´ll tell ya.
The cube, was later going from following me, over to my remaining friends even going down the hole to get to Samantha and fetching her!
It turns the dead bodies into living disgusting molded organisms, evolving whatever it is, into a much bigger creature.
It was at least 7ft tall by the time it fetched all of my friends, the slimy black gooey hands becoming these worm like things, and the head changing into melting puddle of blood, in the end turning it's gooey molded face into my friends faces, growing on each side, even one on the head! The thing was unnatural.
The Emerald was used to empower it, the Emerald started shining bright green this time so bright in fact that it was visible without looking at it. It shone on the creature giving it extra power. I ran out of there, before it had a chance to grow. I threw the Emerald down the hole in the middle of the room, and ran towards the door! I got greeted by people in weird uniforms, wearing gas masks, and wielding flamethrowers and some kind of a bag.
They pushed me out of the way, and i tried to warn them about it, but it seemed they already knew what was going on. They were some kind of government sanctioned force team.
James: But, how did the news spread out so fast? I mean there was even a news article about this from back then, on that very same day.
Harold: Hell if i know. All i can tell you is that after that day, i was never the same, i never did more research again after that.
The sounds echoing through the tomb though, disturbing, dark, eerie. The blood curdling screams of my friends almost lifeless bodies being dragged by that thing from the cube across the floor and it was like it devoured them, but left only the head visible.
Shortly after, news started spreading throughout town that two mature artifacts were found inside of those tombs by some discoverers, and how i was the only survivor from that incident. I never took them with me, but they did! If that thing spreads outside of the tomb than that would mean there wouldn´t be much left of the world.
James: So, when did you end up here?
Harold: Well, lets just say that i never got over the past events that happened, and started hallucinating things. Mold and stuff, always seemed to follow me everywhere i go.
The orderly: Alright Harold, times up, it's time for your guest to leave.
Harold: Alright, take every information i told you, and make sure that this story gets out, however you can, just do it, make sure no one goes near those tombs ever again!
James: Alright, i will. Thanks for your time sir. And again, pleasure to meet you.
Harold: You too. Good luck.
James into the recorder: It seems like there was a bit more under the hood, this was the interview with Harold Johnston, a discoverer who lost his best friends in the tomb of Algurth. I need to see those artifacts.
