接近中午時分，酷熱的太陽公公高掛在藍天上，充滿活力的光芒四射，以熱情的雙手向順仔打招呼，「嗨！小朋友您好，來跟我玩，快來追我吧。」站在下頭的順仔似乎聽到他不斷的邀約，也回應「好哦」一刻也沒閒著，時而跑去溪邊看看小魚游來游去，時而追著蝴蝶跑上跑下，甚至一直沿著田埂追著母親丟泥巴。母親心裏想這孩子「今天怎麼搞的」但又自問自答「看他充滿活力，可能是受不了太陽的熱吧。」因此也沒加以斥責，任由順仔任意的胡鬧，獨自盡興玩樂的順仔根本沒想那麼多，只要高興就好。等到肚子餓了時，就大聲喊說：「阿母，我的肚子，大腸顧小腸啦！走啦，趕緊回家吃飯了」。然後就一直邊玩一邊叫，沒有休息喘氣的時刻，直到母親斥喝「順仔乖乖，要聽話，去竹林下休息一下，等我忙完就帶你回家。」返家後，免不了母親一頓責罵，但因為那時長相和模樣聰明可愛、一副懂得事理的樣子，常不了了之，日後的情景依然不斷地再次發生。
